about
This song was born with an admiration to the young hyperempathic protagonist Lauren Olamina, from the #Earthsea series of #OctaviaEButler. I love her drive to survive and create a community with optimism and respect to one another, despite the carnage of her situation. I wanted to play at embodying some of her inspiring qualities, while also experiencing the feeling of starting new belief system, the feeling of belonging to a cult and the ego that comes with that power.

lyrics
Have your backpack ready.
A gun, amunition,
clothes, a map, seeds
You'll know when,
there'll be a time,
you'll need to run, run, run
Last night I kissed her, she tasted like a corpse
Last night I kissed her, she tasted like a corpse
My father was a preacher,
my brothers gone,
Me, I am Olamina
You're safer in a group.
Don't sleep, don't look back
Tonight, we keep watch
and tonight, I will lead you
tonight, we will travel north
what we know, we will teach
and change is what we know
every single one of you, come with me
every single one of you, we can start something new
every single one of you, we are earthseed.
We are the dust of the sky
Last night I kissed her, she tasted like a corpse
We will travel north
Last night I kissed her, she tasted like a corpse
We will travel north
Last night I kissed her, she tasted like a corpse
We will travel north
We will travel north

Even sound seems to be intentionally placed. These kicks and snares and repetitive vocals hit me hard every time. This Naarm based duo are a massive source of inspiration! ALX; GoSlow
Layers or language, semi recognisable, merge with chopped words and chromatic sounds. I need not understand, to allow the airy, vocal and instrumental wind flow through me - in full body breathwork ALX; GoSlow
